These terms apply to sjmovienights.com, event registration, reviews, and the San Jose Movie Nights email and text messaging programs. By using our website or submitting a form, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Agreement to these website terms does not by itself enroll you in text messages.

Website use and registration

Provide accurate information and register only for yourself or a group you are authorized to register. Registration and subscription forms are intended for adults age 18 or older. A parent or guardian should register for children. Do not misuse forms, send spam, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the website, or submit unlawful or infringing material.

Community events

Events advertised as free have no admission charge. Reservations are subject to capacity and the event details shown on the website. Screenings, times, locations, and availability may change; events may be cancelled, including for rain or unsafe conditions. Check the event page before traveling, even if you signed up for reminders. Follow venue rules and organizer instructions, supervise children in your care, and review the movie's rating and description for suitability.

Reviews and website content

Submit only reviews you have the right to share. You retain ownership of your review and give us permission to display it with your chosen display name and event on this website. Reviews are moderated and may be declined or removed for spam, abusive content, personal contact details, or other violations of these terms. Contact us to request removal. Website text, branding, images, and other content belong to their respective owners; these terms do not grant rights to redistribute films or third-party artwork.

San Jose Movie Nights messaging terms

• Programs: event-specific registration confirmations, text reminders, weather updates, schedule or cancellation notices, and one post-event review request for the event you select; and recurring future-event announcements if you separately choose that option. Messages may be sent using automated technology.
• Opt-in: enter a mobile number you own or are authorized to use and select the relevant unchecked text-message option on our registration or notification form. Event reminder consent and future-event text consent are separate choices. Email consent does not authorize text messages.
• Voluntary participation: consent is not a condition of purchase, event registration, or attendance. You can register without selecting a text option.
• Frequency and charges: message frequency varies according to the event schedule and programs you select. Message and data rates may apply. Your carrier's messaging and data charges are your responsibility.
• Opt-out: reply STOP to the number sending our messages to cancel all texts from this program. You may receive a final confirmation of your opt-out. After that, further program messages stop unless you opt in again. To rejoin after STOP, reply START to the sending number and select your desired text options again on the website.
• Help: reply HELP for assistance, or email hello@sjmovienights.com. Contact us if your number changes or you no longer control it.
• Delivery: messages may be delayed or unavailable because of carrier, coverage, device, or service issues. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Text messages are not an emergency service; check the website for current event status.
• Privacy: mobile information and SMS opt-in or consent records are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Providers may process this information to operate our messaging program. Read our Privacy Policy.

Optional sponsor emails

Registration, account creation, and account preferences include a checked-by-default option for marketing emails from sponsors of events you register for. Uncheck it before submitting if you do not want these emails. Submitting with it checked permits sharing your name, email, and event-specific sponsor activity with sponsors of those registered events, including sponsors confirmed afterward. It does not cover sponsors of unrelated events, calls, or texts. No phone numbers or SMS consent are shared. You may turn off the event-sponsor preference in your account or contact hello@sjmovienights.com, and unsubscribe directly from sponsor emails. A separate unchecked choice on a sponsor’s profile also remains available for that specific sponsor. Existing users are not enrolled merely by viewing a page.

Email updates and affiliated-company marketing

Registering for an event allows us to email you about that registration and event. Future movie-night email announcements use the email-update option on the form. You can stop those announcements with the unsubscribe link in an email or your notification-preferences link.

As explained in the Privacy Policy, email addresses may also be shared with other companies under common ownership for their marketing. To request an end to that sharing, email hello@sjmovienights.com. Use the unsubscribe instructions in those companies' messages to leave their separate mailing lists. Mobile numbers and SMS consent are excluded from affiliated-company marketing sharing.

Availability and responsibility

We aim to keep event information accurate and the website available, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free information, or delivery of a particular message. To the extent permitted by law, the website is provided as available. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will show the updated date on this page. Material changes will receive additional notice where required. Changes do not expand your text-message consent to new purposes without any consent required for those purposes.
